Description

Creamy Lemon Pepper Skillet Chicken is a quick and delicious one-pan meal that brings together succulent chicken cutlets and a rich lemon cream sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions, this dish is bursting with zesty citrus flavors and aromatic garlic.


Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts (about 2 pounds), sliced into thin cutlets
  • Kosher salt and coarsely ground pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small shallot, minced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (from 12 lemons)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat chicken cutlets dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken cutlets for about 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium-low and melt butter. Sauté shallots until softened, then add garlic.
  4. Sprinkle flour into the pan while stirring for about 2 minutes. Gradually add chicken broth, then stir in half and half and bring to a boil before simmering until thickened.
  5. Stir in lemon juice and lemon pepper seasoning. Return chicken to the skillet, nestling it into the sauce with lemon slices. Heat through.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving warm.
