Ingredients

  • 3 packages 12-16 ounces each Mrs. T’s Cheddar Pierogies (frozen)
  • 4 cups chicken broth divided
  • 1 8-ounce block cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese plus extra for topping
  • 1 pound kielbasa sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: sliced green onions

Instructions

  • In a 4-6 quart crockpot, add 3 cups of chicken broth, frozen pierogies, sliced kielbasa, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Stir to evenly combine.
  • Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before the end of cooking, heat the cream cheese with the remaining 1 cup of chicken broth either in the microwave or on the stovetop. Whisk until smooth.
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture into the crockpot and stir well to combine. Sprinkle additional shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  • Cover and cook on low for an additional 30 minutes to allow the cheese to melt and flavors to combine.
  • Serve hot, optionally garnished with sliced green onions for added color and flavor.

Notes

For added flavor, try using a smoked kielbasa. You can also add sautéed onions or mushrooms to the crockpot for extra texture and taste.
