Ingredients

For the Egg Mixture:

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 6 slices white bread cut into thirds

For Cooking:

  • Nonstick spray
  • For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
  • ½ cup white granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Prepare the Egg Mixture:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, powdered sugar, milk, maple syrup, and cinnamon until smooth.

Cut and Dip:

  • Slice each piece of bread into thirds to form sticks. Dip each stick into the egg mixture, coating all sides evenly.

Mix Cinnamon Sugar:

  • In a shallow bowl or plate, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

Cook the Sticks:

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and coat it with nonstick spray.
  • Add the dipped bread sticks to the skillet, cooking in batches to avoid overcrowding. Turn frequently until all sides are golden brown, about 1–2 minutes per side.

Coat in Cinnamon Sugar:

  • Remove the sticks from the skillet and immediately roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture while still warm.

Serve:

  • Serve warm with maple syrup, whipped cream, or fresh fruit, if desired.

Notes

Use day-old or slightly stale bread for the best texture.
Cook in batches to ensure even browning.
