Ingredients

  • 1 pound large fresh strawberries tops cut off
  • 24 Double Stuf Oreo cookies
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 12 ounces chocolate candy melts such as Ghirardelli
  • Chocolate sprinkles optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Slice the tops off each strawberry in a straight line. Using a melon baller or strawberry huller, hollow out the center of each berry to create space for the filling. Discard the tops and inner cores. Pat the strawberries dry and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Add the cream cheese and process until the mixture is smooth, moist, and holds together when rolled.
  • Using a ½-tablespoon or 2-teaspoon measuring spoon, scoop and roll the Oreo mixture into small balls. Gently press a truffle ball into the center of each prepared strawberry, pressing the top of the truffle to be level with the strawberry’s cut edge.
  • Melt the chocolate candy melts according to package directions. Dip the tops of the filled strawberries into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Immediately sprinkle with chocolate sprinkles or crushed Oreo crumbs, if using. Let the chocolate set before serving.
  • For best texture and freshness, serve the strawberries the same day they are made.
